Part-time or Bi-Vocational Pastor

Part-time

Principal Function:

The pastor is to be the spiritual leader of the church. He is responsible to the Lord and the church to primarily proclaim the Gospel and teach the Bible, adhering to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. He is also to engage in pastoral care, provide supervisory leadership in all areas, and administer volunteer staff.

Ministry Requirements and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and conduct worship services; prepare and deliver sermons, and lead in observance of the church ordinances. Expectation is to lead Sunday morning worship and one weekly adult Bible study.
  2. Lead the church in an effective evangelism program and in a caring ministry for those in the church and community.
  3. Guide church volunteers in an effective program of visiting members, prospects, and outreach to the community in general as we continue the work of revitalizing church programs and outreach.
  4. Conduct counseling sessions, perform wedding ceremonies, and conduct funerals as needed.
  5. Cooperate with and participate in local association activities and represent the church in civic matters as scheduling allows. Be involved in community activities when possible.
  6. Act as moderator of church business meetings.
  7. Work with deacons, church officers, committees, and volunteers as they perform their assigned responsibilities.
